TAGUA - FRIEND OF THE ELEPHANTS
Also known as vegetable ivory, the Tagua (Phytelephas Aequatorialis Macrocarpa) is a tall palm tree in the rainforest of South America whose fruit, left to dry naturally, takes consistency, color and appearance similar to the ivory of animal origin and can be easily processed in various forms and dyed.
It is a renewable natural resource of extreme importance:
it has reduced the use of animal ivory, it doesn't damage the forests and it's biodegradable... a perfect balance between the human hand and mother nature.
☺ Renewable resource!
